Wai Yien is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in United Kingdom, a Chartered Accountant of Singapore of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA), a Chartered Accountant of Malaysia of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), an Accredited Tax Practitioner (Income Tax) of the Singapore Institute of Accredited Tax Professionals (SIATP), and an Associate Member of Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), in USA. In addition, Wai Yien holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Applied Accounting degree awarded by the Oxford Brookes University Business School in the United Kingdom.
Prior to joining CFOCA, Wai Yien worked in a Chartered Accountants Firm in Singapore. During his employment, he was involved in the audits of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Singapore and its overseas subsidiaries from a variety of industries. His experience in Singapore extends to a diverse range of industries including manufacturing, trading, retailing, construction, non-profit organization and investment holdings.

Ian holds a Master degree in Accounting and Financial Management from the University of Gloucestershire (UK), he is also a Fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK), a Chartered Accountant of Malaysia and a Certified Financial Planner.
Ian began his career in auditing with a medium size professional firm where he gained valuable professional and commercial experience.
Besides, Ian also specialises in financial reporting, financial management and performance management subjects for ACCA programme. He understands students’ needs well and his exposure to the education industry has led to him to embark upon teaching opportunities in countries like Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, Vietnam, Brunei and Africa.
